During my most recent trip to France with Grey Goose and Soho House, I stayed at the lovely Hotel Bachaumont for one night while in Paris. Centrally located in the 2nd Arrondissement, the boutique hotel is contemporary, cozy and stylish, and comes highly recommended for a stay.
Hotel Bachaumont opened about two years ago from the masterminds at La Clé Group, who also include Hotel National des Arts et Metiers in their portfolio. With 49 rooms, Hotel Bachaumont is minimalist and retro with interiors by French designer Dorothée Meilichzon. The 4-star hotel makes good on its promise to deliver a true Parisian lifestyle experience.
Hotel Bachaumont is located in Montorgueil at 18, Rue Bachaumont. A short 10-minute walk from the Louvre and within 2 km from Notre Dame, the hotel is perfectly located to take in all the sights of Paris.
The hotel boasts an open-front restaurant in their lobby by the same name that non-hotel guests would be sure to frequent. A modern take on a French brasserie, the restaurant has an airy and spacious feel with a glass roof and open kitchen. Hotel guests will enjoy a generous breakfast buffet that transforms into a lively dinner scene later in the evening. View the menu (in French) here.
Right across the lobby is Night Flight, a cocktail bar from the same group that pioneered the Experimental Cocktail Club, an infamous bar close by the hotel and with locations in New York and London. With velvet loungers and live music, this is a place to see and be seen.
Hotel Bachaumont has 49 rooms, which includes four suites, all decorated in an Art Deco style with blues, grays, greens and gold accents. While the rooms are small (typical for Paris), the space is well used with minimal and sleek furniture. Dorothée Meilichzon’s aesthetic is apparent with classic fabric headboards and geometric tile floors.
I stayed in an Executive Room, which is 248 square feet (23 square meters) with a view into the interior court and its glass roof.
Depending on the availability and weekend, room rates begin at the following:
- Classic from 179 Euros
- Superior from 199 Euros
- Executive from 239 Euros
- Parisian Suite from 399 Euros
- Signature Suite from 479 Euros
- 24-Hour Front Desk
- Complimentary Wi-Fi Access
- Fitness Center
- Bathrobes, Slippers and Free Toiletries
- Room Service
- Meeting Rooms
This hotel review is because I truly loved the hotel and wanted to share my experience – I was not paid or encouraged to make this post in any way.
