Golden Gate Bridge

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the City by the Bay numerous occasions and most recently visited my brother and sister-in-law over Easter weekend. As Rudyard Kipling said, “San Francisco only has one drawback: ‘tis hard to leave.” I couldn’t agree with this sentiment more, especially after I experienced a more local guide to the city, which I am happy to share with you all today.

Tribeca, NYC

Staple Street Tribeca

I live in New York City, and this summer marks my six-year (!) anniversary of moving here from the University of Michigan. In writing about NYC, instead of trying to cram my insider tips into one just post, I will be profiling my favorite neighborhoods in NYC, publishing one per month. As it is Memorial Day and I have opted for a wonderful staycation, today we are going to begin with Tribeca, the neighborhood I live in now and the one that has my heart!

Vail: Like Nothing on Earth

Vail, Colorado boasts the unapologetic tagline of “Like Nothing on Earth,” and I have to agree. Vail is my home away from home and can always be counted on for a fantastic escape from all of life’s worries. I grew up going to Vail almost every winter and summer, effectively serving as our US base when we lived in Singapore. Today, I usually visit 2-3 times a year, and you can often find me kicking and screaming on my way out. While Vail is well known for its best-in-class ski resort, there are a ton of activities and experiences to be had – both in winter and summer.
