The Financial District has so much personal significance. My first ever trip to New York City was November 2001, just two months after the horrific 9/11 attacks. In this solemn time, I absolutely fell in love with the city and its resilience, determination, and compassion. I just knew that I had to live here and experience it all myself. Staple Street Tribeca

I live in New York City, and this summer marks my six-year (!) anniversary of moving here from the University of Michigan. In writing about NYC, instead of trying to cram my insider tips into one just post, I will be profiling my favorite neighborhoods in NYC, publishing one per month. As it is Memorial Day and I have opted for a wonderful staycation, today we are going to begin with Tribeca, the neighborhood I live in now and the one that has my heart!
